A Better Finder Rename 11 introduces a new renaming action in the Conversion category called Lexical Case Conversion.
This action uses the lexical tagging engine built into macOS to determine the lexical class of every word in your file names, i.e. whether it is a noun, a verb, an adjective, etc.. it then allows you to choose whether to capitalize, uppercase, lowercase or leave that word untouched.
It is important to realize that this feature works within system limits and macOS’s lexical tagging engine is impressive in some ways and not so impressive in others. Your mileage may vary.
You can use the text input field in the Force case: section to give the precise case for particular words, for instance
IBM Mr PhD, would mean that IBM also gets spelled in all caps, Mr with a leading capital followed by a lower case
letter and PhD exactly so, no matter which lexical class the tagger decides the word may be. The words in the list
are separated by normal spaces.
